CHANGES FOR RIVERWATCH?

MORE WATCHERS, MORE TERRITORY, LONGER HOURS?

ARE THERE WAYS THAT THE RIVERWATCH PROGRAM IN DOWNTOWN LA CROSSE COULD BE IMPROVED? THE QUESTIONS ARE COMING UP, AS A RESULT OF THE FIRST RIVER DROWNING THAT HAS OCCURRED SINCE RIVERWATCH WAS ESTABLISHED BY LOCAL COLLEGE STUDENTS. ERIC KAHL AT U-W-LA CROSSE SAYS THE GROUP’S BOARD IS PUTTING TOGETHER AN AGENDA FOR ITS NEXT MEETING.

ONE CHANGE WHICH ERIC THINKS COULD HAPPEN SOON IS AN ADJUSTMENT IN PATROL HOURS. HE SAYS RIVER WATCHERS MIGHT START AT 11:30 P-M INSTEAD OF 11, BECAUSE THEY DON’T SEE MANY PEOPLE IN THE PARK AREA UNTIL AROUND MIDNIGHT.
