Council to Weigh in on Patros Deal Tonight
Tonight, a full vote expected from the La Crosse city council on a big land deal. A deal to buy the eleven acre Patros property north of Riverside Park. A deal that took a while to get worked out. City planner Larry Kirch thinks talks between the Patros family and the city began as long as 30 years ago.
If the council agrees, the city will spend close to 2 million dollars on the eleven acres, only three of which is said to be usable for development. The purchase will complete a 65 acre development area between the Black River and Copeland Ave.
