Outside Consultant on Patros Deal Approved
Spending two million dollars on three good acres near the river? Agreed to unanimously by the La Crosse city council this week. Buying the Patros property–eleven acres total—turns out to be no problem for anyone on the council. What some council members really got hung up on was spending 30 grand on an outside firm to do some TIF district amendment work to make the deal a go. Some asked Why do that when there’s the city planners office? City planner Larry Kirch tells city council he would do as they wished but, because the deal seems to have a deadline; getting outside help would speed the process along. The 30 grand has been given preliminary approval.
