Sides Close to Agreement on Copeland Lease
A new lease agreement between the city of La Crosse and the Loggers baseball team appears to be finally free of snags. The two sides have been working on a new lease for well over a year. A last minute disagreement over legal liability threatened to derail the lease. Now, the two sides apparently have found a solution to that disagreement and promise to have the new lease ready for a full council vote on Tuesday. The new lease will involve a more-than-doubling of the amount that the Loggers will pay the city to use Copeland Park for its games but that money will be reinvested into Copeland improvements.
