FEMA Coming To Vernon County
Specialists from Wisconsin Emergency Management and FEMA will explain how state and local agencies and certain private non-profit organizations can apply for federal Public Assistance to help recover from flooding that occurred in June, this week.
The applicant briefing for Vernon County is Thursday, 2pm at the Vernon County Emergency Operations Center in Viroqua.
Officials will explain FEMA’s program for debris removal, emergency protective measures and the repair, restoration or replacement of damaged public facilities or infrastructure. Under the cost share program, FEMA funds 75 percent of the cost for eligible work; 25 percent is shared equally between state and local applicants.
