Former Viterbo President And Chancellor Medland Dies

Funeral services are being scheduled for former Viterbo president and chancellor Bill Medland…

The university says Medland died this weekend. He had fought cancer for a long time, dating back to his early years as Viterbo president in the 1990’s. Medland was hired as president of Viterbo in 1991, and held the post for a record 15 years, after which he was appointed chancellor. The Viterbo campus experienced physical changes and much construction during the years Medland was in charge, as enrollment and the school’s endowment grew rapidly.

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
