City Council President Says Slow Down on Parade Viewing Permits

A new plan to charge those who want to stake out viewing spots along the Oktoberfest Maple Leaf parade route in La Crosse is not drawing a huge enthusiastic response from some.  Like city council president Dick Swantz.  Primarily, he says, it’s too close to the event to make parade viewing permits requirement reasonable

Swantz also believes enforcement of the permits will be extra work for city police.  The city’s public works board considers the idea again next week.
