New City Policy Will Keep Water Billing Info Secret

Want to know how much UW La Crosse actually pays for the water it uses?  How much City Brewery dumps into the city sewage system?  Who is getting a break on storm water utility charges and who isn’t?  Good luck.  After September third, La Crosse will begin adhering to a new state municipal privacy law, making all utility account information secret to everyone but the utility customers themselves.  The city does say forms are available that will allow someone other than the customer to get permission to look up a bill.  But, in a notice released this week, the city also warns about planning ahead, suggesing delays in getting the information.  Any complaints?  The city recommends calling your state lawmaker.
