Sparta Speeder Lands In Jail

A Sparta man sits in jail today awaiting a court appearance after getting

busted in a high speed chase. Cops say 51 year old Brian Brannon was pulled over Saturday night in Jackson County after after learning the car he was driving was reported stolen. Brannon then took off, leading 3 police agencies on a chase with speeds in excess of 100 mph. Wisconsin State Troopers deployed spikes just north of the City of Sparta and the car went into the ditch. Brannon faces charges of operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent, reckless endangering safety, fleeing and OWI 8th offense. Brannon is being held in the Monroe County Jail pending a court appearance today.
