New Policy to Call for Enforcement Along Parade Route

The rules on camping out in the days prior to the Oktoberfest Maple Leaf parade in La Crosse are pretty clear.  No couches, chairs, bleachers, portable toilets or anything else left in the right-of-way before midnight of Maple Leaf Saturday.  Those rules haven’t been rigidly enforced in the city..  Until this year’s fest.  The city’s board of public works has voted to hammer down on those who break the rules along the Maple Leaf route, pitching a tent days ahead of time to reserve a spot.  The police say, no problem
