Common Core state standards in school districts around the state could vanish

if state lawmakers get their way. They will hold a hearing a week from today on whether Wisconsin should continue using the national standards for public school students. A huge change says La Crosse School District’s Troy Harcey.

Newly named committees in the Assembly and Senate are planning a seven hour public hearing from 10 to 5 next Thursday at the Capitol. Later hearing dates could be set elsewhere in Wisconsin.
