Shutdown Looms, Local Services Impacted Minimally

Still tracking the types of federal services that would go offline locally should the government shut down after tonigh.   Some offices would close, like senator Tammy Baldwin’s local office.  The social security office will remain open but some services won’t be available including issuing new social security cards.    The weather service office in La Crosse will likely remain open as an essential service.  The post office will also remain open and operating as usual.
