La Crosse No Wake Zone Recommendation Coming

After months of deliberation, the La Crosse Harbor Commission is expected to make a recommendation this month on what, if any, changes should be made to the no wake zone on the Mississippi River at La Crosse.  Key things to consider for that recommendation, says commission chair, Marc Schultz

The commission will make its recommendation at a meeting on the 21st of this month.  It is only a recommendation.  The city council in La Crosse will have final say on whether any changes will be made in the no wake zone.

    You are alienating a lot of boaters and tourists by restricting the access to areas. A lower speed limit I can see, but slow no wake is just punishing the many for the wishes of a few. Most of the boats on the river are large and those boats thro more wake at 10 mph than they ever would at 30 mph. Enough regulations please. You cant choose to build on the river and complain about the boats, that’s the same as building on French Island and complain about the plane noise..
