Legislature Close to Ending La Crosse Rental Registration, Inspections

Just as La Crosse is working harder to deal with sub par housing, state lawmakers are on the verge of approving a bill that could give city hall fits.  Proposed rules would mean an effective end to La Crosse’s rental registration and inspection process.  Quite a change

Democratic state senator Kathleen Vinehout.  The senate is expected to cast a final vote on the rental bill soon.  La Crosse’s mayor Tim Kabat says dumping the city’s ability to regulate rentals would be a disaster.
