South Branch Library Saved In Reversal By La Crosse Library Board

A dramatic chapter in the history of the La Crosse Library appears to have a happy ending, for now…

A September decision to shut down the library’s South Branch to save money has been overridden by the library board, which has found the money needed to keep the branch open for 2014. The board’s decision followed a public hearing on Thursday.  Library board president Tom Sleik says revenue decisions made by the legislature have a major impact on the La Crosse Library budget.

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
