Binge Drinking Committee Could be Eliminated
Among the handful of committees that the La Crosse city council will consider abolishing next month: The Alcohol Oversight Committee. Several years old, the committee was first put together by then mayor John Medinger in order to tackle some serious concerns about alcohol abuse in the city
The committee’s recommendations led to several rules changes in La Crosse including keg registrations and sober server laws. Medinger says, although he doesn’t resent the ending of his group, he also doesn’t believe La Crosse has solved its drinking problems.
