Doctors to See Reimbursement Rates to Increase

Published

on

Doctors complaining about their Medicaid reimbursement rates in Wisconsin may have less to complain about soon.  A new report from the state says doctors will see their reimbursement rates jump by 78% over the next two years under the federal Affordable Care Act.  About 4,500 doctors in Wisconsin will be eligible for the increased reimbursement, according to the state Department of Health Services.  The idea is to get more of those doctors to take Medicaid patients.  Those patients are expected to grow in numbers.  While the Medicaid reimbursement is a bit of a jump, it only raises rates to the level of Medicare, which most doctors also complain about being too low.
