No Wake Zone Likely to Stick

Despite protests from law enforcement that the current No Wake Zone at Riverside Park in La Crosse is unenforcable, it will likely stay just the way it is.  The Board of Harbor Commissioners has voted this week to recommend no change to the No Wake Zone that stretches for more than a mile on the Mississippi and has proven wildly unpopular for all kinds of boaters.  But the length of the zone and the markers that indicate where it is also makes it a problem to enforce according to the testimony from city police, the sheriff and the DNR.  The city council will have the final say on whether to keep the No Wake Zone in place.
