Million Dollar Parking Lot

What would you be willing to pay for the courthouse parking lot in downtown La Crosse?

Community development specialist Brian Fukuda has come up with a ballpark value, in case developers want to build on the block between State and Vine where the courthouse stood 50 years ago.  Fukuda suggests that the lot could sell for around $1.5 million.  A space study just presented to the county suggests that new county offices could be built on the north end of that parking lot…at the loss of about 100 surface parking stalls.  Fukuda says he checked into the possible value of the block, after hearing comments that the courthouse lot is only worth about a dollar.
