If it’s Christmas-time in La Crosse, that means it’s time to honor some local volunteers for their community service, and their faith.

This year’s Iverson-Freking Awards go to former Cathedral rector Father Robert Cook…Army veteran Tom Hundt…and nurse Jane Steingraeber. They join about 60 other honorees recognized by the Bethany-St. Joseph care centers for their contributions to the La Crosse area.  The Iverson-Freking awards, named after a La Crosse businessman and a former Catholic bishop, have been given out since the late 1980’s.  The three winners for 2014 will receive their honors during a January luncheon at the Radisson.
