City Council Crushes Business Plans on Police Advice

Published

In what could be a first for the city of La Crosse, the city council has denied a license to run a second hand shop.  The council, acting on the advice of the police department, tells Mitchell Kessler he can’t open his business on the northside because of past criminal convictions like OWI and writing bad checks.  Kessler says some of his past criminal history may be misinterpreted or exaggerated.  Sounds like excuses to police chief Ron Tischer

Tischer believes Kessler’s is the first ever application for a resale business to be recommended for denial by the police department.
