Again, With the Shovels and Door Hangars

Frequent doses of shoveling already this season in La Crosse.  There hasn’t been much snow but it’s come at regular intervals.  And the city engineering department is keeping a close eye on how quickly walks get shoveled after those snowfalls.   We’re told around 800 bright orange warnings have been hung from doorways so far this season to remind property owners about the rule that mandates walks get cleared withing 24 hours of the snow ending. This year, properties will only get one warning.  After that, the contractor will simply clear walks and property owners will get billed.
