Timbers Tourism Center?

Why put up a brand new building when you can recycle an old one?

That

question will be pondered by two city committees in Onalaska, meeting tonight and tomorrow.  They’ll debate a new plan for the city to acquire the former Timber’s restaurant, now up for sale:

Brea Grace is Onalaska’s development director.  The city has been planning to build a new tourism and cultural center at the west end of Main Street.  Construction on that project is still about a year-and-a-half away.
