Salvation Army Oh So Close To Goal
The bell ringing may be done with but the donations will continue at the La
Crosse Salvation Army. Red kettle collections came in at over $239 thousand this year though that does not include the match from the Ho Chunk nation, which should be coming the second week of January. $254 thousand was the goal this year. Last year, the kettles collected just over $213 thousand. The total Christmas Red Kettle Campaign stands at just over $486 thousand so that puts the Salvation Army at 74% of the goal.
An anonymous donor is matching up to $5,000 of the checks that walk in the door in the next few days. So far they have just over $3,000 in checks. The Christmas Red Kettle Campaign continues through the end of January, so while they have a ways to go to meet the goal, the Army is close enough to see that it is attainable. That means every donation that is dropped off, mailed in, texted or given online will make a difference.
