County Committee No Conclusions
Same time next week?
La Crosse County officials could go right down to the
wire before deciding the fate of the former courthouse. The county board is expected to vote January 16th on whether to sell the building to two local developers, and a campus study committee was supposed to make a recommendation at a meeting yesterday. But no recommendation was made. Reporters asked committee chair Joe Veenstra if there has been progress:
Almost the entire meeting was held behind closed doors, with no reporters allowed in. The purchase offer is set to expire soon, and the study committee will meet again next Monday for one final crack at a decision.
