Billings Hears Human Trafficking Stories
Human trafficking, forcing someone into slavery or prostitution, exists in
the Coulee Region, but there was little discussion of it. Until a conference last year in La Crosse that state lawmaker, Jill Billlings attended. Now she has pending legislation to allow someone involved in human trafficking to place a civil suit on their abductors. Several stories at that conference drove her to write the legislation.
Billings Predator Accountability Act is one of many bills introduced in the Assembly this legislative session designed to combat human trafficking in Wisconsin.
