400 Foot Wells Part Of District Cost Savings
The new Northside Elementary School will have something no other school in
the district does. A geothermal system instead of a traditional boiler. Our Dan Deicher was on the construction site Tuesday talking with District Energy Manager, Kermit King.
King says yearly heating and cooling costs for the new school will be about $24 thousand cheaper. And the district might also qualify for about $100 thousand in savings from a state incentive program for green building design. The new school should be done in time for fall classes to begin.
