Cops Say Drunk Bus Driver Crashes Into A Tree Transporting Kids
A 54-year-old Winona County school bus driver is accused of being drunk, while transporting five students, and then losing control and crashing into a ditch.
On Tuesday, Karl Allen Herber was taking elementary students home from the Lewiston-Altura School District when he crossed the center line, went into the ditch and hit a tree. Cops says Herber blew a .09. The legal limit for commercial drivers is .04.
Herber faces a charge of third degree DWI. A judge set bail at $12,000. None of the kids on the bus were hurt.
