Retired Firefighter, Council Rep Likes Inspection Move

There might be some who don’t like the idea of adding another job to the La Crosse fire department.  But firefighters probably won’t be among them.  Retired division chief, Fran Formanek, now representing a southside neighborhood on the city council, says it’s a perfect fit to put the fire department in charge of building code enforcement

Mayor Kabat wants to transfer the work of code enforcement to the fire department in part to take some of the workload off the city’s overwhelmed planning and inspection department.
