Shilling Goes To Bat For People With Student Loans
Going to college comes at a cost to most students…a cost that could take
years or decades to pay off. Debt from student loans affects about 10 per cent of Wisconsin’s population, and it keeps many college grads from pursuing some of their dreams until the debt is paid.
La Crosse Senator Jennifer Shilling heard those stories yesterday, at a Senate hearing on a bill to ease the burden of student loans. The bill co-written by Shilling could help people refinance their college loans, or even claim the payments as a tax deduction.
