Solar Jobs In Minnesota Growing
Between 2012 and 2013, solar related jobs in Minnesota jumped 73 percent. Due
in part to the Minnesota legislature passing a renewable energy law in 2013, requiring the state’s energy portfolio be at least 1.5 percent solar-powered by 2020 and 10 percent solar-powered by 2030. Ohio based Nextronex CEO, Jay Troger says his company is jumping on the jobs bandwagon in Minnesota.
Minnesota solar employers expect to add approximately 250 jobs in the next twelve months. The new Minnesota census findings also show about one in four employers expecting to add jobs and fewer than 3 percent expecting to reduce the size of their workforce.
