Hankel Pleads Guilty To Heroin Death Of Barre Mills Man

A ‘guilty’ plea from Malachi Hankel…

He’s the Madison man who sold heroin to Tom Tremain of Barre Mills in September. Tremain died of a drug overdose, shortly after Hankel gave him a ride from Madison back to his home. As a result of the plea agreement, Hankel is likely to avoid prison time, but will be recommended for probation.  Hankel will be sentenced April 1st on the reckless homicide charge.

 

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
