La Crosse Center Paying Attention To Ramp Fees
You can add the La Crosse Center to the downtown businesses that are worried
about what will happen when the parking ramps start charging hourly rates, within the next few weeks. Center manager Art Fahey says some promoters have been attracted to the civic arena in the past because La Crosse has allowed free public parking in the ramps. But the city is about to start charging a dollar-50 an hour for ramp users, following a two-hour grace period. The rate will be charged at night, but not during daylight hours on weekends. Center board members also are concerned about finding room for school buses to park near the building during tournaments.
