Prep in Full Swing For Frigid Plunge
They’ll be taking a chainsaw to the ice off of Pettibone Park on the Mississippi River this morning in La Crosse. Cutting a giant hole in the ice for hundreds to dive into as part of this year’s Polar Plunge to benefit the Special Olympics. Plunge organizer, Kerry Gloede. One of the biggest challenges, she tells us, will be keeping the hole from re-freezing before tomorrow morning when hundreds will actually start jumping into the water.
