Kelsey Says He Will Still Run Mayoral Campaign
That’s Tomah mayoral candidate Leroy Kelsey. We contacted
him after learning Monday he had a felony on his background and cannot be on a ballot nor can he have the seat he does on the Tomah city council. We asked Kelsey about his 1990 conviction in Monroe County for theft by fraud.
Kelsey said he thought that conviction had been changed to a misdemeanor and dropped. Now, he will run his campaign though he could not actually win the race. Both the Monroe County D.A.’s office and the Tomah Attorney are investigating.
