$100K Prize In Hunger Fighting Contest To Be Awarded Tonight
A prize of 100-thousand dollars will be awarded in La Crosse tonight…
The money will be presented to one of two groups that came up with plans for fighting hunger in the La Crosse area. The contest, called the Coulee Collaboration, was announced over a year ago by the Franke Charitable Foundation. Its goal is to get many community organizations to pool their talents, and figure out ways to provide food to needy local residents. While only one group could win the grant money, foundation director Mel Hoffman says ideas offered by the losing group could become part of the hunger-fighting project.
