New DOT Study Probably Coming
Cars, bikes, trains…who knows what types of transportation the future holds for La Crosse? Those questions might be answered by a new study that will be sought by city hall. The city council this week has given approval to requesting a new transportation study for the city that could lead to using DOT money set aside for road building. It’s $135 million and the DOT has warned they’ll use the money elsewhere if the city doesn’t want it. Mayor Tim Kabat says using the money on new transportation infrastructure isn’t a bad idea he just doesn’t want to use it to build a road through the city’s marsh as the DOT apparently prefers.
