Get Ready For Growth Wisconsin
We’ve been told for years that the city of La Crosse can’t grow because it’s
landlocked between the river and the bluffs. And although the La Crosse area is anticipating population growth in the next 25 years, the city itself will remain stuck at around 50-thousand people. Instead, families will continue settling north and south of La Crosse. Onalaska could grow to 23-thousand by the year 2040, and Holmen will be up to 13-thousand. Vernon County will be one of the 10 fastest growing counties in Wisconsin over that period. On the other end of the scale, Door County and Buffalo County will lead the state in population loss.
