Their Mission: Rehearse A Musical And Perform It In Just 24 Hours
Twenty four hours, one musical, infinite fun…
That’s the slogan for a stage experiment happening this weekend at La Crescent High School. It’s called the ’24 hour musical,’ because a cast and crew will spend 24 hours straight rehearsing a full musical before performing it for an audience. That’s not much time to memorize lines and songs, but choreographer Jon Lamb says they’ll work around that challenge, perhaps by finding ways to hide the scripts on stage.
The show will be either ‘Godspell’ or ‘All Shook Up,’ which is based on Elvis Presley songs. The Appleseed Community Theatre chose the winning musical months ago, but will not reveal which show is being done until tomorrow night.
