Movie ‘Fort McCoy’ Still Fuels Hope For Local Film Production
When a movie called ‘Fort McCoy’ was being made in western Wisconsin, people in the tourism business were hoping it would be part of a wave of film production coming to the state.
But that was six years ago, and the wave didn’t last long. Dave Clements of the La Crosse Convention and Visitor Bureau is disappointed that the Badger State hasn’t been as aggressive as other states in trying to attract movie projects.
Clements says La Crosse still has a local film commission, available to help in case more movie companies want to shoot here. He’s ready to promote ‘Fort McCoy’ if an announced summer release actually happens.
