Billings Pleased With Bill
A bill that would increase penalties for human trafficking in Wisconsin is on
its way to the governor.
The bill was passed by the Senate on a voice vote yesterday. It would allow people who were forced into prostitution to seek to have convictions dropped. La Crosse representative Jill Billings has introduced a similar bill, with a few differences:
If Governor Walker signs the bill, Wisconsin would join about 30 other states in offering remedies to people victimized by human trafficking.
