La Crosse Posts Better January Unemployment Rate

A bounce in the La Crosse jobless rate from December to January.  New numbers from the state show the unemployment percentage jumped in the metro area from 4.5% to 5.5% during that one month span.  But January’s jobless rate for La Crosse is still a full percentage lower than the 6.5% from January of last year.  And much lower than the overall state average of about 6.1%.
