Sign Ordinance Fight Apparently Continuing
The fight apparently will continue over a controversial sign ordinance in the town of Campbell. A federal lawsuit has been filed against the town on behalf of two men who were ticketed under the sign rules. They claim the town violated their rights to free speech. A lawyer for the town’s insurance agency has said that she has responded to that suit but won’t say what the response is. Town chair, Scott Johnson also won’t comment on the response other than to say that the town is not backing down. The suit against the town had demanded that the sign ordinance be rescinded. It bars any display of signs, banners or flags from the pedestrian bridge over the interstate.
