Critics Say Not Enough of a Veto for Contentious Bill

With a partial veto, governor Walker still didn’t make any friends with those critical of a bill to limit absentee voting in the state.  Walker eliminated only minor parts of the bill that would allow in person absentee voting durign weekdays only, from 8 am to 7 pm, in the two weeks prior to an election.  With Wisconsin Common Cause, Jay Heck says the bill only limits the number of people who can vote in the state

 

 

With his partial veto, Walker removed one part of the bill that limits total in person absentee voting time in municipal clerk offices to 45 hours per week and cut another part that requires compensation for those who help with the absentee voting.
