Alternate Side Parking Tickets Increase
Not a record. But La Crosse police did pick up the pace a bit for altenate side parking enforcement in the city. Alternate side parking ended this week with about 17,300 tickets written for the season. Up from the 15,800 handed out last winter but still well short of the 18 thousand plus just two winters ago. Last year, increased fines for the tickets seemed to increase awareness for drivers of which side of the street their car needed to be on. But this winter also marked the first in three years that the area around UWL was not exempt from altenate side parking rules.
