Monroe County Approves Construction Bid For Courthouse And Jail Project.

By a vote of 16-8 Wednesday night, Monroe County Board of Supervisors agreed

to give a $27.9 million construction bid to Miron Construction to build a new courthouse and jail. Project Manager, Kurt Marshaus tells us that a schematic of the project from 2009 may have been a turning point in discussions.

Marshaus says crews will start setting the stage for ground work to be done in downtown Sparta by mid-May. The $33 million overall project should be completed by May of 2016.
