Six months after a deadly plane crash near Caledonia, investigators still have not determined the probable cause for the accident.

Three men died and a fourth was injured when their Piper plane crashed on November 1st, apparently while trying to land at the Houston County airport. According to the preliminary report issued shortly after the accident, the plane’s right wing hit the ground first. The men aboard the plane had taken off from Detroit, and were headed to a hunting trip in South Dakota. Federal investigators often wait about six months after a plane crash to file a probable cause report, but reports on fatal accidents generally take longer.
