Time To Think Oktoberfest In May
The planners of Oktoberfest want La Crosse residents to get excited early
about the new shorter festival this year. During a fund-raiser last night, fest officials unveiled the design for the 2014 button, dominated by a Bavarian hat and handlebar mustache. They also released a tentative schedule for the Thursday to Sunday festival that begins September 25th. There will be three parades again…the Maple Leaf, the Torchlight, and the Friday morning parade, now called the Edelweiss parade:
That’s Oktoberfest president Doug Kratt. The fest royalty will continue to visit schools and nursing homes in the week following the official closing of Oktoberfest on Sunday the 28th.
