Town Of Onalaska Will Try Second Petition

Published

It only took a few minutes to settle on a new strategy…

Officials from the town of Onalaska spoke with their lawyer at a special meeting today, and decided to make a second try at incorporation. The town’s original petition was knocked down by a La Crosse judge this week, mostly over how the petition was written. Town board members plan to fix the legal language, and collect a few dozen signatures on the new petition. The village of Holmen took the township to court the first time, because Holmen wants to annex some of the same land that could be included in a possible Village of Midway.
