Turkey Farmer Not Talking Turkey’s On Capitol Hill
As a Minnesota turkey grower and crop farmer, John Zimmerman never
imagined he would be called to testify at a hearing on Capitol Hill, not even as a board member and past president of the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association. Zimmerman was in Washington, D.C., to tell the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee that significant steps need to be taken to prevent another winter of dangerously low propane supplies caused by worsening complications to pipeline distribution.
U.S. Senator Al Franken of Minnesota, invited Zimmerman to testify before the committee not only because of his role in the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association, but also because of the hardships he endured last winter.
